Pump Industry Hat-Trick for Tomlinson Hall

March 28th 2012

Billingham-based Tomlinson Hall & Co Ltd have been named as Britain's Pump Distributor of the Year for the third consecutive year in this year's prestigious Pump Industry Awards.

Held in Solihull, the Pump Industry Awards (PIA) are the Oscars of the pump industry with over 250 guests from both the UK and overseas attending the Gala Dinner. For Tomlinson Hall, the Distributor of the Year Award came after winning the same title for the last two years.

Colin Simpson, Sales Director of Tomlinson Hall, commented, "To win the Distributor of the Year award once is a great honour, to win it twice is just fantastic, but to win it again is truly spectacular and a boost to us all to have been judged by our peers in the industry. It was a terrific evening which we would have enjoyed with our guests whether we’d won anything or not, but the award obviously made it even more enjoyable, not only for ourselves and all our staff, but also for our clients and customers who naturally enjoy the success."

"Our clients are our greatest advocates and allies, which isn't something every distributor can claim, the recognition we have received is solely due to their continuing support and confirms the strength and longevity of the relationships we hold."

"We've come a long way since our formation in 1919 and are now representing many international manufacturers and distributing pumps on a truly global scale to customers from South America to Russia. We've grown and expanded in a harsh economic climate and this award has given a tremendous boost to everyone connected with the company. It's is a tremendous accolade and acknowledgement to the levels of service we deliver and we are extremely grateful to everyone connected with the decision.”

BBC News presenter Juliette Morris, alongside British Pump Manufacturers' Association (BPMA) Chairman, Ken Hall, announced the Billingham-based company's success at the award ceremony. Mr Hall commented, "Tomlinson Hall offer a total service to clients where speed and quality of technical response is crucial whilst their technical experience and knowledge permits the production of customised solutions to individual challenges. To just survive in today's increasingly competitive market is hard enough, but to flourish, grow and continually improve is a great achievement and they thoroughly deserve their success."

Tomlinson Hall Ltd was established in 1919 as a general engineering company and has now grown into a specialist manufacturer and distributor for pumps, power transmission equipment and engineering supplies employing some 23 staff. The company manufacture their own range of Liquivac pumps in addition to acting as UK distributors for a variety of both UK and overseas manufacturers, including Grundfos, DEPA, ELRO, Alfa Laval, Flowserve and Richter Pumps, part of the US-based Idex Corporation.
