Businesses take to the fairways to support a good cause

Charity was the winner last month at the Billingham Legacy Foundation Golf Day, sponsored by Tomlinson Hall.

More than £1750 was raised for the Billingham Legacy Foundation at the annual event, which took place on May 12 at Billingham Golf Club.

The Billingham Legacy Foundation an independent charitable grant making body which invests in the community of Billingham for the benefit of the people of Billingham.

Twelve teams from companies including Tomlinson Hall, KMS Partners, Brewin Dolphin, Billingham Golf Club, Biochemica, CF Fertilisers, Chemoxy, HSBC and TA Ellis Builders all battled it out on the day.

The KMS Partners team scooped first prize, with Billingham Golf Club’s Captain’s team coming in at second place and the club’s members’ team taking third spot in the event. Tomlinson Hall also had a good day, with our ‘B’ team reaching fourth place and Andrew Savory, of our ‘A’ team winning the Nearest The Pin prize. Ian Flounders – also a member of our ‘A’ team – was the winner of the Longest Drive prize.

Colin Simpson, business development director of Tomlinson Hall and a patron of The Billingham Legacy Foundation, said: “We’d like to thank everyone who contributed to making the event such a huge success, and supported The Billingham Legacy Foundation in its efforts to improve the lives of people in our local community.

“It was fantastic to see so many companies taking part in the golf day and we’d like to congratulate the KMS Partners team, the runners-up and the individual prize winners on their achievements.

“We’re very proud of Tomlinson Hall’s roots in Teesside and this is reflected in our ongoing support for initiatives such as The Billingham Legacy Foundation, which make a real difference in our area.”
