Tomlinson Hall helps Stockton Basketball Club shoot for success

September 27th 2017

Stockton Pumas and Stockton Rockets basketball teams are set to kick off the season in style after receiving a generous sponsorship award from Tomlinson Hall.

Tomlinson Hall is sponsoring the club shirts of Stockton Rockets, Stockton Basketball Club’s men’s team and our logo will feature on the front and back of the club's shirts from the 2017-18 season onwards. The kit, released in late September, will be worn for the first time on Wednesday September 27 as Stockton Rockets’ A team faces East Durham B team at the Grangefield academy, Stockton.

And the partnership will also see Tomlinson Hall sponsor Stockton Pumas, Stockton Basketball Club’s women’s team, who will carry the logo on their playing kit until 2019.

Stockton Basketball Club is a non-for-profit organisation, founded eight years ago. It currently has a junior section which caters for under 11’s, an intermediate section and teams within the senior men and women’s sections.

The club have purchased new kits with the funding awarded from Tomlinson Hall for three teams, which will be worn in every game they play in the Durham Basketball League.

Gary Keith, club secretary at Stockton Basketball Club, said: “It is fantastic to see the new kits being sponsored by a local company. The club itself can run by subscriptions but when it comes to extra equipment such as balls, kits and training tops, this is where we struggle. Purchasing kits is very difficult for us unless we put the subscription prices up, which we don’t want to do as we actively encourage members of the community to join sports clubs. So, having Tomlinson Hall come in and buy the kits for the three teams is a God send.”

Colin Simpson, business development director at Tomlinson Hall said: “Stockton Basketball Club is a fantastic club which represents the community of Stockton and we are therefore delighted to be able to sponsor the Stockton Pumas and Rockets teams.

“We look forward to working together and supporting the club throughout the two upcoming seasons. Both teams are very passionate and driven and wish them the best of luck in the season ahead.”
