Funding award opens a world of opportunity for Tomlinson Hall

September 26th 2017

Tomlinson Hall has received a cash boost to support exporting activities in North America and Canada after winning a grant from Heathrow’s World of Opportunity SME Grants Programme.

Tomlinson Hall is just one of 20 companies across the UK to be awarded the funding and support package which is designed to help SMEs export their goods or services to new international markets.

The World of Opportunity SME Grants Programme was launched by Heathrow in partnership with the Department for International Trade’s Exporting is GREAT campaign and Plaza Premium Lounges.

The package will be used by Tomlinson Hall to introduce its own product, Liquivac, to new markets in the USA and Canada, where it has potential to offer a pump solution for major water projects and the wine industry.

Liquivac is an innovative liquid ring vacuum pump which can handle combinations of liquids, gases and fine solids and can perform a huge range of operations. The vacuum pump can also operate with very long suction lines and accommodate solids of up to 2mm in diameter.

Colin Simpson, business development director at Tomlinson Hall, said: “We are thrilled to have won this grant as it will open up more export opportunities for our own pump product, Liquivac.

“We have identified that it has huge potential in the USA and Canada and could offer a pump solution for major water industry projects in California and the US West Coast, in the wine industry in the American Viticultural Area (AVA) of the Napa Valley in California and in the Canadian aquaculture, desalination and mining industries.

“This grant will greatly assist us in targeting two potential distribution partners for Liquivac in the USA and Canada, establishing a route to market into our target sectors and providing further export growth for Tomlinson Hall.”

Heathrow CEO John Holland-Kaye added: “As the UK’s gateway to the world and its biggest port by value, Heathrow is essential in getting British goods and services to international markets.

“With the World of Opportunity programme, we are showing the world the breadth of talent and opportunity from all across the nations and regions of the UK. And demonstrating once again, that Britain’s gateway is open for business.”
