Tomlinson Hall rolls out automotive industry event

May 19th 2016

Pump technology, innovation and efficiency was on the agenda last week as we shared our expertise at an event organised with the North East Automotive Alliance (NEAA).

Tomlinson Hall, in conjunction with Grundfos and CRANE ChemPharma & Energy Flow Solutions presented to representatives of major global vehicle manufacturers and supply chain companies at the NEAA BusiNEss & Breakfast event on May 10.

Held at Grundfos Manufacturing, Sunderland, the event aimed to help companies from the automotive sector understand how to optimise the size and specification of their pumps, gain knowledge on how to use energy-saving pumps, and learn about new technologies that can help to reduce energy consumption.

The event featured presentations from Colin Simpson, business development director of Tomlinson Hall, Tony Keville, managing director of Tomlinson Hall, Simon Smart, area sales manager at Grundfos and David Lindsay, Nordic Region sales manager – Pumps at CRANE ChemPharma & Energy Flow Solutions.

Delegates were able to learn more about pump applications in the automotive sector, explore cutting-edge energy-saving technology and gain advice on using pumps more effectively.

The day also included a factory tour of Grundfos Manufacturing, one of the world’s leading pump manufacturers.

Launched in 2015, the NEAA is an industry-led cluster group which supports the economic sustainable growth of the automotive sector in the North East of England.

With more than 140 member companies, the NEAA is the largest automotive cluster in the UK and one of the fastest growing clusters across Europe.

The NEAA was recently fast-tracked to Bronze Label status by the European Cluster Excellence Initiative, which benchmarks cluster groups on quality indicators including achievements, recognition and management.

Colin Simpson, business development director of Tomlinson Hall, said: “The NEAA BusiNEss & Breakfast event was a great success. We hope that attendees will now have a more comprehensive understanding of the pump solutions available to them, and of the high level of pump engineering expertise and technical know-how available on their doorstep in the North East.

“We’d like to say a big ‘thank you’ to the North East Automotive Alliance and Grundfos for making this event possible, and to both CRANE ChemPharma & Energy Flow Solutions and Grundfos for their fantastic contributions to the presentation.”
