Tomlinson Hall wins prestigious engineering award

February 9th 2018

Tomlinson Hall was named ‘Engineering Firm of the Year 2018’ at the North East of England Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC) Annual Industry Awards Dinner 2018 held at Hardwick Hall, County Durham on January 19. NEPIC is an award-winning industry-led cluster organisation which works to grow the chemical-using industries, businesses and associated supply chain in the North East of England.

The award for ‘Engineering Firm of the Year’, sponsored this year by The Northern Skills Group, champions the best and brightest successes within the industry. We will donate the £2000 prize money from the award to Billingham South Community Primary School, which is near to our Teesside headquarters.

The awards evening was sponsored by ABB, BOC-Linde, Cape, Centre for Process Innovation, ITS, Lotte Chemical UK, Lucite International, Northern Skills Group, Oranmore Environmental, px group, Sirius Minerals, Ward Hadaway and Wilton International.

Colin Simpson, Business Development Director of Tomlinson Hall, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to start the year by being named ‘Engineering Firm of the Year, which is our third NEPIC award since 2015. I’d like to thank our team for their hard work and commitment to engineering excellence, which helps to continually drive us forward.

“We’re proud to be long standing members of NEPIC, which does great work to develop and support the North East’s process industry, and it means a great deal to be recognised by the cluster in this way.

“As a pump manufacturer as well as a distributor, we’re able to bring a manufacturer’s perspective to engineering challenges and for many clients, we act as their pump engineering consultancy, drawing on our problem-solving capabilities to support them. This has been a key reason for our long term success.”

Iain Wright, Chief Executive of NEPIC, said:“The NEPIC awards is an occasion to celebrate the achievements of industry and to showcase the talented firms and individuals who work in this important sector to the region.

“They recognise success in the year past, but what is most gratifying to me is that they point to the future, with firms growing and innovating, investing in young people, being positive players in the local community and embedding even closer links between education and industry.”
