Tomlinson Hall initiative encourages creativity in young people
August 7th 2018
Tomlinson Hall is challenging school kids to get creative this summer.
Working in collaboration with Billingham South Community Primary School, we have donated 500 Tomlinson Hall branded canvas bags for use by pupils and staff over the holidays.
We’re encouraging parents to tweet snaps of unusual uses of the bag, or post photos of how far and where it has travelled in the summer, using the hashtag #thbluebags.
This will automatically enter pupils into our competition, where winners will be chosen in categories such as funniest picture with the bag, most unusual use of the bag, picture of where the bag has travelled, and best picture of the bag at an event or famous place. Each winner will receive a £20 book voucher.
There’s also a special prize of tea for two at 12 Harland Place in Norton for staff who take part in the competition.
Earlier this year, we helped fund Billingham South Community Primary School’s Science Week with a £2000 donation.
Tomlinson Hall was named Engineering Firm of the Year 2018 at the North East of England Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC) Annual Industry Awards in January and received £2000 to donate to a local school of our choice to support STEM-related projects.
Colin Simpson, Business Development Director of Tomlinson Hall, said: “We are very pleased to have established this close relationship with Billingham South Community Primary School.
“We have previously been involved in some of the school’s extracurricular activities such as its sports day and value day, and feel that it’s important that, as a long-established Teesside business, we are giving something back to our local community.
“The blue bags competition is another great opportunity for us to get involved with the school in a different way and encourage young people to use their creativity outside the class room.”
